In the guide there is information about reading, downloading and borrowing e-books. There is also information about Novia's e-book services and some free services.
The library purchases large e-book collections as well as single e-books, depending on available options. Some of the books can be read by several users simultaneously, some only by one user at a time.
The e-books the library has acquired can be read in a web browser or downloaded to your own computer or mobile device. A downloaded e-book is borrowed and will not be accessible after the loan period. You can also reserve an e-book that is on loan.
You can find the e-book services the library has acquired in Finna, Tritonia-Finna | Novia Vasa and Jakobstad and Alma (Novia), Åbo and Raseborg. You can also find them in Novia LibGuides.
The library tries to acquire electronic versions of the textbooks whenever these are available. Unfortunately, the supply of electronic textbooks offered to organizations is very limited. The publishers also limit access to the newest edition, often only the older editions of a textbook are available electronically. Sometimes there are also e-versions of books available, but not with a library license.
If you have questions or wish to get guidance in using e-resources, please contact your library.
Please contact us also if you need e-books that are not included in the databases, we order them if possible.
